Thousands of people packed the San Jose Mela this year. Some were there to see Baljit Malva, Some were there to see Jatinder Jargia, Some to see Narinder Mavi, and some were there to see local talent such as Jagmeet Singh "Jagga". With an approximate crowd between 5-7 thousand, the fans were not disappointed. Jagga had a solid performance and rocked the crowd by singing his new track from his upcoming album titled Aja Aja.

Jagga Auditions for Sa Re Ga Ma:

ZEE TV was holding Sa Re Ga Ma USA Tryouts yesterday and today at the Sunnyvale Hindu Temple and Jagga decided to give it a shot. There were two rounds in the competition. The first one was raw Accapella to see who could sing and hold notes without any music. The second round was with a keyboard player to see if the singer could hold beat, stay on key and had a stage presence. There were over 250 contestants who showed up to the Bay Area region tryouts and about forty were invited to sing in round two. A majority of the singers, were cut off during their song or done after they finished singing one song. Jagga went up and sang Punjabi Folk Boli Pinda Which Pind Suneedha, And the Judge seemed to like it and asked Jagga to sing Another Punjabi Song. Jagga then Sang Toar Jivay Jatt Di, which is an original track to be featured on his debut/upcoming album written by Satinder Kala. The Judge again approved the song and invited Jagga to come back for round two under one restriction: The 2nd round songs had to be in Hindi. Jagga Kindly Thanked the judges for the opportunity but turned down the offer. Out of the 40 round two contestants, A total of six were chosen. Three from day one, and three from day two.
The winners will be placed in pool of singers of which the top 16 from across the Nation will be selected and be invited to participate on Sa Re Ga Ma USA In Texas which will be shot in June.

The Anticipation of Jagga's solo Album has started to take place around the country and finally some details have been leaked to the press. Early Reports out of the Bay Area are that the album will be finished and possibly debuting June 7, 2008. The Music is being done by Highly proclaimed music Producer Ek Love. With 43 albums to his credit including albums by Madan Maddi, Satinder Satti, KS Makhan, and Maqbool just to name a few. Eklove is sure to maximize the potential of Jagga and bring the best out of him for the public to hear . Songs have been gathered from a wide range of writers including Satinder Kala,Anpard Assi, Sukhbir Rialcote, Cheema Sikanderpuria, Pritpaul Dhaliwal and JS Jagga just to name a few. Early reports indicate approximately 16 songs will be made of which, the producer and Jagga himself, along with the people working alongside him, will decide which tracks turn out the best and are to be selected for his debut album. Also A female singer from Jallandher will be working on a duet song with Jagga.

Jagga Performs in Hollywood

The Lines were long out the door and the fans were waiting to hear Jagmeet Singh Jagga for the very first time in Hollywood. The performance took place at The Trantra on West Sunset Blvd with a maximum capacity crowd. Even The hit Producer Dr. Zeus From the UK showed up to enjoy the party and hear the new singing sensation Jagga on the mic. Dropping some of his boliyan with the KJ'S Dholi Mandeep, Jagga kept the entire crowd on his feet.

Jagga Begins working on Debut Album:

After recently going to Punjab, Jagga has locked an album deal with a producer in India. The producer's name is Eklove and he has produced over 43 albums in Punjab including albums by such stars such as KS Makhan, Madan Maddi and Jaspinder Narula, just to name a few. Terms of the deal were not made public however Jagga did say that they have began to screen songs and filter out the songs that they want to use on the album. A total of 12 songs will be selected. Out of the 12, the 8 tracks that turn out to be the best, will be the 8 tracks that go on his album. With duets being so hot in Punjab these days, we wouldn't be surprised if Jagga decided to sing a duet with one of the talented female singers he knows. As more news develops and songs are selected , We will be sure to let you know what the latest is in the project.

Jagga going on Vacation:

Jagga is going on Vacation starting this Friday March 30th and is headed to Punjab in an attempt to Pursue his dream of becoming a Professional Singer. After weeks of being delayed, the details have finally been worked out and he has many meetings with various people/producers/writers and record companies already set-up out there. This will allow him to get a good gauge on how the music industry in Punjab all works, as well as set-up the necessary contacts in order for a singer to be successful in today's market. Currently his ticket back is booked for April 21rst, However, that may change depending on what he has to get done out there and if he starts on a project out there etc. If he does begin working on his album in Punjab, then the date of Return will be postponed. Jagga Goes to Studio:

Jagga spent 4 Hours in studio today working on some tracks and Laying down some reference vocals for him to take to Punjab with him. "It was a successful session and I was able to get a lot done." Stated Jagga via phone. He would not release all the details about what exactly was recorded, but he did say that there were multiple songs that were done in studio. Jagga's has been working on his tracks intensely over the last couple months and is ready to record some new and original songs. He has scheduled a studio session in Santa Clara and is expected to go on Wednesday the 21rst of March to record a couple of tracks. Jagga To Perform at Stanford Lohri:

Every Year, Stanford University in Palo Alto holds a Lohri.

The Bonfire Ritual
In the evening, with the setting of the sun, huge bonfires are lit in the harvested fields and in the front yards of houses and people gather around the rising flames, circle around (parikrama) the bonfire and throw puffed rice, popcorn and other munchies into the fire, shouting "Aadar aye dilather jaye" (May honor come and poverty vanish!), and sing popular folk songs. This is a sort of prayer to Agni, the fire god, to bless the land with abundance and prosperity. After the parikrama, people meet friends and relatives, exchange greetings and gifts, and distribute prasad (offerings made to god). The prasad comprises five main items: til, gajak, jaggery, peanuts, and popcorn. Winter savories are served around the bonfire with the traditional dinner of makki-ki-roti (multi-millet hand-rolled bread) and sarson-ka-saag (cooked mustard herbs).

Song & Dance
Bhangra dance by men begins after the offering to the bonfire. Dancing continues till late night with new groups joining in amid the beat of drums. Traditionally, women do not join Bhangra. They hold a separate bonfire in their courtyard orbiting it with the graceful gidda dance.

This year is no different and Jagmeet will be singing with World's Best Dholi, Ustaad Lal Singh Bhatti. The Deadly combination will be sure to thrill the crowds that show up at the event so make sure if you have time, to come out and check it out. The Lohri begins at 7pm On Saturday February the 23rd at Stanford University.

The Much anticipated track Oye Hoye and the Bhangraton track featuring Master MC will be releasing under the record label Golden Child Records. The album "Bubble Gum Vol. 1" is set for a release Mid 2007 featuring some up and coming stars in the music industry covering a wide genre of music from Punjabi to English. With Reggaeton becoming big in the United States, It was only a matter of time for Punjabi Artists to jump all over the craze and produce hits that are universal and can be played at both American as well as Punjabi Parties. Juggy D started the revolution by releasing the track "Push it up on me" and many other singers have followed. Now it was time for Jagga to make the most of the opportunity as he decided to give that Reggaeton a shot. Today Jagga went to a Recording Studio in Santa Clara to record his newest Track. After 2.5 Hours in studio, the song was finally finsihed. Its an original track with a new flavor. The Main song is Spanish and Jagga laid down some Punjabi Vocals on it. Together the mix should appeal to wide range audience and its raggeton beat, is sure to make this song a club Banger. The song will be featured On Soundtheorys Bubble Gum Volume 1 which will be releasing in Early March by Golden Child Records.
